Welcome! Below, you will find educational resources based on the Global Vegetation Project. While there are some suggested lesson progressions, our goal is for you to be able to take ideas and fit them to your classroom and teaching style. The activities are designed with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) in mind, although they can be adapted to any learning environment. Resources are also phenomena-based, centering the student and allowing their curiosity to guide instruction. Lesson resources are sorted by grade band and the three dimensions of the NGSS: Science and Engineering Practices, Crosscutting Concepts, or Disciplinary Core Ideas.
Scavenger Hunt: If you would like to get your students to engage with the Global Vegetation Project before attempting a lesson, you may have them explore the platform with a brief scavenger hunt. It is available as a word document and a PDF.
